We start with raw rock forms that are cut into slabs. Next the shape is drawn on the slab to be cut on a Lapidary machine. Some shapes are free formed but each shaped slab is then put through the rigorous process of cutting, grinding and polishing until it reaches the desired look and form. Most fascinating about each piece is that no two are ever identical. One rock with many slices produces many variations. Therefore no piece that we create is ever alike. All metal components used in our work is lovingly created by hand one piece at a time. This is another aspect that adds to the character, beauty and originality of the piece. Hand forming metal is an imperfect artform. Even though the use of hand tools are incorporated to produce the work no piece will ever be identical. The hardware used in the work is designed and crafted with great care and love for the process. All chain links and clasps are designed to compliment each work. All metalsmithing, soldering and production is done in house. The complete process to produce a work from concept to creation can range from 24 to 100 plus hours.
